Welcome to Iroquois High School - Home of the Chiefs!
Iroquois High School promotes and demonstrates daily a deep rooted culture of high academic achievement and solid upstanding citizenship for all students. Our High School is always rated high in Business First. The Class of 2011 had a graduation rate of 98%, with 94% receiving Regents diplomas and 54% receiving Advanced Regents diplomas.
Enrollment in the High School is approximately 900. The student curriculum offers a variety of course selections that are challenging, comprehensive and progressive in meeting the needs of the 21st Century student. We have advanced instructional technologies to meet our student's needs in the ever-changing global society.
The curriculum provides the requirements for both Regents and Advanced Regents diplomas. Students are encouraged to pursue electives and Advanced Placement courses which further prepare them for the college experience and life beyond high school. Iroquois High School offers (13) AP courses.
Building Initiatives and Goals for 2011-2012:
- Support professional development initiatives which build capacity to help students successfully meet the New York State standards using research based strategies.
Utilize data analysis to raise student achievement.
Realign our high school curriculum to the Common Core Standards.
Continue to integrate instructional technology in the classroom to enhance the needs of the 21st century learner.
Increase and enhance communication with students, parents, and the community through teacher and administrative web pages; on-line resources, including newsletters and calendar events.
Continue to promote a healthy and safe school environment by addressing substance abuse and respecting the dignity of all students.
We encourage every student to be involved in extracurricular activities and clubs. The faculty, staff, and administration will continue to work collaboratively for each student's academic success. Communication and on-going community support is valued and encouraged. Strong parental partnership with the school enhances a positive student experience.
