Wow, 2020 what have you done to us? So much has changed this year, yet so much hasn't. I am looking forward to preparing you for your successful business career outside of Iroquois, using new skills that we have all been "forced" to utilize on our road to success! If 2020 has taught us anything it is to be patient and accept change. We are all in this together. Please do not ever hesitate to contact me for any reason. Email is the most efficient way to reach me. If you are wondering who I am and what my experience in business and teaching is, continue reading below below. 🙂
I started my career in business after graduating LeMoyne College with a Finance and MIS undergrad degree. I did a semester in England my junior year and was fortuante to travel to many European countries.
My first job was at Transamerica Insurance finance where I analyzed the accounting documents of insurance companies. While working at Transamerica, I went back to school to get my MBA at St. Bonaventure, where I traveled to China for an International Marketing class. After Transamerica, I went to work at M and T Bank as a financial analyst in cost accounting. Some of my job responsibilities included break-even analysis and cost allocations between revenue and service cost centers. Following my analysis at M and T, I moved to Fisher Price to be an "elf." I was a marketing analyst where I made sure that the correct number of toys were on the shelves for purchase. Following my marketing analyst position, I moved to a support role for sales, where I traveled to customers to help support their needs in product.
So you ask, how did you come to teaching?? I mentored a boy in the ciy of Buffalo on Friday afternoons, and little did I know that I would change my life and my career direction. While I was doing all of the financial analysis at Fisher Price, I went back to school at Empire State to receive my Masters in Teaching. I have taught in the City of Buffalo, a charter school, and finally in my home-town school of Iroquois. For four years I have taught RTI math and 7th grade math in the middle school, and now the business teacher at Iroquois High School. I am so forunate my career path has lead me to such a rewarding career in one of the best districts in Western New York.
The above is all of the professional information, however, I have a loving family at home who has supported me throughout this journey. My husband Jason, is a proud Iroquois grad. I have three daughters who all attend Iroquois schools. We love to travel and do it as often as we can! I love to garden at my home, and a lot of my time is shuttling my girls to extra curricular activities.
