Coaching Information

All non-certified teacher & volunteer coaches must complete the following to coach in New York State:

• Valid and current first-aid certification (valid for three years)
• Valid and current CPR/AED crtification (valid for two years)
• Concussion in Sports Course
• DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) Training
• Child Abuse Course - available through BOCES
• Violence Prevention & Intervention (SAVE) Workshop - Available through BOCES and online
• Completed Temporary Coaches License - Renewed annually - Available through NYS TEACH
• Completion of Philosophy, Principles, and Organization of Athletics in Education course within 2 years of initial appointment - Available through BOCES and on-line
• Completion of Health Science Applied to Coaching and the Theory and Techniques of Coaching (sport specific) course within three (3) years of initial appointment - Available through BOCES and on-line
