Each Primary Building in the Iroquois District has a School Counselor
who works with all students Kindergarten - 4th grade.
The School Counselor's Role:
The School Counselor’s role includes such things as Proactive and Preventative Based Classroom Lessons, Group Counseling, Individual Counseling, Grief Counseling, and Crisis Counseling. We also consult with Staff, Parents, and Administrators on student’s progress and performance to help ensure that every child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are addressed adequately. Counselors additionally can help identify and connect families with outside resources when required based on the child/family’s individual needs.
We invite you to contact your School Counselor with any information that can help their school team ensure your child is successful both inside and outside of the classroom.
