Dear Iroquois Family,
Good afternoon, here is important information for the week of October 28th:

For Parents to Know
Halloween Safety Tips from Our SROs:
Costume Safety
· Choose fire-resistant costumes, wigs, and accessories.
· Use reflective tape or glow sticks if children are out after dark.
· Opt for nontoxic makeup instead of masks, as masks can block vision. Test makeup for irritation and remove it before bed.
When Trick-or-Treating
· An adult should accompany young kids. Plan a route and curfew for older children.
· Remind children not to enter strangers’ homes or cars, stick to well-lit areas, and avoid eating treats until inspected.
· Make sure they carry a phone with location services on, and stay alert to avoid distracted walking.
Motorist Safety
· Watch for kids on streets and sidewalks, especially in dark clothing.
· Drive slowly, avoid distractions, and be extra cautious entering driveways.

Unified Sports
It’s that time of the year for Iroquois Unified to prepare for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge. Last year the Iroquois Polar Plunge Team raised over $31,000 for Special Olympics New York which was the largest total for any school team in the state's history. This year our goal is $40,000.
