Superintendent's Message 2/10/2025

Dear Iroquois Family,

Good afternoon, here is important information for the week of February 10th:

 

Board of Education

There is a Board of Education meeting this Wednesday February 12th at 7:00PM in the Middle School STEM room.  Discussion points include an update from the Family Support Center and a budget update.  The meeting is livestreamed on our website; all are welcome to attend in person also.

 

For Parents to Know 

Mid-Winter break starts this Friday February 14th through February 21st.  School resumes February 24th.   I hope everyone has a chance to rest and recharge.

 

2025-26 Universal Preschool and Kindergarten Registrations are now being accepted!

Please go to the Registration Page on the Iroquois Website at www.Iroquoiscsd.org for information and procedures.

UPK INFORMATION:

Students eligible for UPK must have birthdays between December 2, 2020 and December 1, 2021.

·         You must be a legal resident of the District and meet the UPK age requirement to register for a UPK seat during open registration, January-February 28, 2025

·         The UPK program is a free full-day program M-F from 9am-3pm

·         No wrap-around child-care is provided by the district.

·         The program follows the school district calendar

·         Transportation is not provided for UPK students, families must provide transportation

·         As registrations are received, the students are assigned a number.  If the number of registrants exceeds the number of seats, a random lottery will be held in March.

§  Students whose numbers are picked are assigned seats in their home school, until all the seats are filled.

§  If no seats are available in the home school, the student is assigned to another primary school in the district with open seats.

§  If seats become available, they will be filled throughout the year based on the lottery.

§  Parents will be notified of the lottery results in April

KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION:

Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by December 1st, 2025.

Kindergarten registration should be completed by the end of March 2025 to properly plan for kindergarten screening which is held in May.  However, kindergarten registration is ongoing and may be done anytime during the year.

Athletics

Congratulations to Arianna from the Varsity Rifle team for qualifying for states over the weekend. 

Congratulations to all of our Fall 2024 sports teams for receiving the team’s scholar athlete aware.  This requires 75% of the team to have a 90% of higher average. 

Boys Bowling finishes the season 2nd in ECIC South Small School Division.  A special congrats go out to Caleb for receiving the division sportsmanship award.

Boys Wrestling finished the regular season as ECIC Division 2 League Champions after defeating Will South last week and going undefeated on the season.

Congratulations to Chaela and Sam from our Varsity Wrestling team for receiving the Good Character Award on alumni night at their dual meet. 

Senior Wrestler Brady was recognized last week for receiving 150 career wins and junior wrestler Josh was recognized for receiving 100 career wins.

Sophomore Girls Basketball player Kendall was recognized at Depew last week for reaching 1000 career points. 

Congratulations to Junior Seth from the Boys Swim Team for qualifying for States at the Class Championships in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.73.
