Superintendent's Message 11/10/2025
Dear Iroquois Family,
Good afternoon, here is important information for the week of November 10th:
Capital Project
On November 18th from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM, a vote will be held for our next Capital Project. The vote will take place at the Intermediate Gymnasium.
The project will be focused on keeping students warm and dry by replacing our oldest heating systems and updating aging roofs. Your vote is important!!

Board of Education
The Board of Education will meet this Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the Middle School. The presentation to the Board this month will be centered on the students’ results at the 4th and 5th grade level. The Board will have its final presentation on the upcoming Capital project vote on November 18th. This last presentation is to make sure entire community understands this project will not cause any change to the tax rate. The project will be replacing boilers at Wales and Marilla plus roofs at Wales and the High School. If you are unavailable to attend in person, the meetings are always broadcast live on the District website.
Family Support Center News
Please join us at our first Kinship Support Group meeting on Thursday November 13th from 6pm-7pm at Grace in the Community. This group will inform grandparents and caregivers about available benefits and services such as stipends, food and clothing resources, childcare, and legal rights while providing them a supportive space to meet and interact with other members of the Iroquois and Alden community. If you have any questions or are inquiring about details of the group feel free to reach out to the Family Support Center at (716) 652-3000x1304 or fsc@iroquoiscsd.org.
Danny's Helping Hands is a non-profit organization that assists those who are facing temporary financial challenges in Elma, Marilla, Wales, East Aurora and surrounding areas. They offer various programs, services and resources, including a free Clothing Room and Community Pantry box; more information can be found at www.dannyshelpinghands.org
For those who need assistance with Thanksgiving Meals this year, you can fill out a form to receive items for a Thanksgiving Meal, and we also offer a Holiday Gifts Program for children of families in the area. To apply for these programs, please visit our website. We ask that you apply by November 15. We look forward to serving those in our community this holiday season.

Iroquois Red Hawks’ Roost Project
The Iroquois School Track Boosters and Boys Lacrosse Booster Clubs have launched a fundraising campaign to construct a concession shed at the District's athletic field. The campaign seeks to raise $12,000 to purchase and install a 10' x 16' shed with a 4’ overhang, serving window and secure storage. The Butterfly Foundation has committed to matching donations up to $4,000, leaving $8,000 to be raised through community. FYI
New York State modified its regulations on lead in drinking water making it more restrictive. Iroquois will begin testing the drinking water on December 9th to make sure it meets are exceeds all NYS requirements because childhood exposure to lead can have serious health effects. To ensure the safety of our students, any drinking water outlet that is not intended for drinking will be clearly marked with signage, locked, and/or fitted with other prevention methods to ensure water is not consumed. We urge you to discuss the importance of not consuming water from these outlets with your children. You will be notified of any negative test results when they arrive in the coming weeks. Unified Sports
It is that time of the year that our Unified program is putting together our Polar Plunge team to support Special Olympics NY and our kids. We are looking to build a team of over 100 students and staff members and earn the Cool School Challenge award as the top fundraising school team. Our team will be plunging at the 12:00pm event this year.
Please consider joining the team to make this one of the best years as our goal is over $30,000. If you wish to donate directly to a team member, you can click on their name on the right side of our team members list.
