Superintendent's Message 5/20/2024

Dear Iroquois Family,

Good afternoon, here is important information for the week of May 20th:

Board of Education

VOTE      VOTE   VOTE   VOTE  

The Annual Budget Vote for the 2024-25 school year is tomorrow Tuesday, May 21st.  The District aims to have everyone participate by casting their vote and providing feedback through the exit survey. Your vote is important!! Please stop by and cast your ballot!

Voting will be in the Intermediate Gymnasium from 7:30 am through 9:00 pm.

Parents

Primary Parents--A reminder that June 14th is NOT an early release day as the paper calendar states.  It is a full day of school.

Middle School Parents—A reminder that June 13th and 14th are NOT early release days as the paper calendar states.  They are full days of school.

Performing Arts

The HS Chorus concert originally scheduled for May 22 has been moved to Tuesday, May 21 (Tomorrow).  The concert will be held in the HS Auditorium and will begin at 7:30 PM or shortly thereafter, immediately following the 4th Grade Band & Orchestra Concert at the MS.  As always, our concerts are free and open to the public. 

Athletics

Congratulations to the following teams who recently earned ECIC Division Champions:

Girls Varsity Softball

Boys Varsity Baseball

Boys Varsity Track and Field

Adam from the Varsity Golf team shot 76 in the first 18 holes and 40 in the final 9 holes of the section VI qualifier for states.  This score was enough to qualify him for the state tournament which will be held on June 1st and 2nd this year. 

Iroquois Varsity Girls Flag Football had a good playoff run.  They won both their quarterfinal and semifinal games to send them to the Division 2B sectional finals.  Although they came up short of the win, they end their season as Section 6 Division 2B runners up.

Girls Varsity Lacrosse had a very successful season finishing 2nd in Conference 4 with a record of 10-4.  They qualified as the 10 seed for Class C Sectionals and came up short of a win in their first playoff game. 

Boys Varsity Lacrosse qualified as the 8 seed for Class C Sectionals and will play their first playoff game today 5/20 at 5:30 vs Lakeshore/Silver Creek at Lakeshore High School. 

Girls Varsity Softball entered the Class A sectional playoffs as the 3 seed.  They won both their pre-quarter and quarterfinal games sending them to the semifinals where they will take on the number 2 seed Grand Island on Wednesday 5/22 at 5:00 at Grand Island High School.

Boys Varsity Baseball will begin their playoffs as the 2 seed in Class A2.  They received a bye for the pre-quarters and will take on Dunkirk in the quarterfinals on Tuesday 5/21 at 5:00pm at Iroquois High School.
