Good afternoon, here is important information for the week of February 13th:

Board of Education

The Iroquois Board of Education will hold its monthly meeting this week, Wednesday February 15^th at 7:00 pm in the Middle School. You can attend in-person or watch it live on the District’s main webpage: www.iroquoiscsd.org  Some of the topics for discussion include: curriculum update, Strategic Plan Survey and an update on the NYS Education Indigenous-Native American Regulations. 

Petitions for School Board Candidates

The Iroquois Central School District Board of Education is comprised of seven members who are elected to serve a 5-year term. On June 30, 2023, the 5-year terms of Mrs. Sharon Szeglowski and Mrs. Louise Toth will expire. Residents interested in running for the Board may pick up a petition and informational packet from the District Clerk in room #33 of the Intermediate Building. As per Education Law, all prospective candidates must obtain a minimum of 30 valid signatures, which represents two percent of the 2021-2022 total vote count. Qualified candidates must be a resident of the District for at least one year prior to the election, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, able to read and write, and not an employee of the district. Petitions must be returned to the office of the District Clerk by 5:00PM on Monday April 17, 2023. This year’s election will be held on May 16, 2023.

Performing Arts

The High School Drama Club is hard at work on this spring’s musical.  The Sponge Bob Musical will have performances on March 16-18th.  This is the last opportunity to show your support for the musical by placing a business ad and/or personal messages in the program.  If you are interested in supporting the Drama Club by placing a message of congratulations to our cast, crew, and pit orchestra, please contact Mr. Frommann, Mfrommann@iroquoiscsd.org by this Thursday and he will send you the appropriate form.
