Dear Iroquois Family,

Good afternoon, here is important information for the week of April 24th.

Annual School Budget Vote

The Annual School Budget vote will be held May 16th from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Middle School Intermediate Gymnasium. As always, the District encourages all residents to exercise their right to vote and complete the exit survey.  The exit survey will help the Board of Education make informed decisions throughout the school year.  You can expect to receive the Budget Newsletter in the mail shortly.  Here is a link to the most recent balanced budget presentations.   https://www.iroquoiscsd.org/Page/250

High School

Shea’s announced its nominees for the Kenny Awards, and Iroquois Drama Club’s production of The SpongeBob Musical was nominated in seven out of 15 categories:

Outstanding Musical Production

Technical Design

Dramatic Performance

The Sardines were nominated for Outstanding Ensemble Performance

Clara was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role

Xavier was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role

Braeden was nominated as Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role

 

Congratulations to all our cast and crew in Drama Club – we are so proud of you all! 

 

For Parents to Know

With the end of the school year fast approaching, please continue to check student progress on the parent portal.  Please call the main office if you are having trouble accessing the website.

The New York State Education Department Board of Regents approved the regulations requiring public school to terminate the use of indigenous names, mascots, and logos.  Complete information on this can be found on the Iroquois District website. https://www.iroquoiscsd.org/Page/11509

 

Therefore, the District will be moving from a period of listening and learning about the NYSED regulations to implementing the regulations.  The first phase will be developing a plan that will be presented to the Iroquois Board of Education in July.  We are very thankful that we will be able to keep the name Iroquois and only modify the nickname and logo.  I will continue to keep everyone updated as the plan is developed and presented.
