Hello Iroquois Middle School Families. Please see below with some news and information.


News Worth Sharing:


- MSA Sponsored “Coin Wars”: Our MSA sponsored a “Coin War” between all of the homebases to raise funds for field trips, student activities, etc.  Every day of the week students brought in different coins. The Grand Total collected for the whole week was $1,466.90!

Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser.

-State Assessments:  State assessments will be starting in April.  ELA (grades 5-8)will be on April 10-11th, Math (grades 5-8)will be on April 24-25th, and Science (grade 5 and grade 8 only)

will be April 29-30th. All opt-out requests must be submitted by March 28th.  This will allow us time for the preparation of administering the assessments.  For more information click on the link: State Assessment Letter to Parents


-Teens in Action: Last week Teens in Action had fun during a recent Campus Clean Up! Great job everyone. We also will be sponsoring a sneaker recycling program with “Gotsneakers”. They’ll be collecting any kind of sneakers which are no longer worn. This will start on April 15 and continue through the end of the school year. More details to follow.

-6th Grade French Celebration: Thank you to the 6th grade students who attended the French Celebration events in February and March. Students learned about French/Quebecois culture and learned some new vocabulary all while enjoying some delicious crepes and traditional sugar pies from Quebec. 

-International Club: The next International Club meeting for 7th-8th grade French/Spanish students will be held on Wednesday, March 27th from 2:35pm-3:30pm. Students can go to the Boys/Girls Club or have a ride home at 3:30pm. Sign up with your French or Spanish teacher. 

-French Students: Attention all French student's families - On Monday, March 25th, French students will go home with their Mrs. Field's Cookie Dough & More Fundraiser brochure. The fundraiser will be held from March 25th to April 19th. Details will follow from Mrs. McGee and Ms. Gaske. Thank you for your support!

-Kids in the Kitchen, sponsored by the Fitness Club, finished up their last session with Breakfast and Physical Activity. The students were challenged to come up with new, healthier ingredients to make their breakfast as nutritious as possible. Their last cooking task was to make hearty egg burritos and orange oatmeal pancakes. 

-8th Grade T-Shirt Design Contest: 8th grade students are encouraged to submit a design for their 8th grade moving up day t-shirt. Information was emailed to all students. Designs can be emailed to by April 19th.
