April 5, 2024 - Principal's Message

Dear incoming II Students and Families,

I hope everyone has had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break so far.  This final large pause from day-to-day learning is always welcomed by students, especially as everyone prepares for state assessments and the final push through the Spring.  There is still exciting work ahead of us as we embark on the end of the school year and prepare for the opening of the II in September of 2024.  With that being said, please know that we need your help parents!

I would like to take a moment to let all parents of 3rd and 4th graders of Elma, Marilla and Wales know that there will be a joint PTO meeting held on Monday, April 22nd at 6:00 PM in the II Cafeteria.  At this meeting, interested parents from all three primary buildings will come together to discuss the formation of a new Intermediate PTO, as well as elect officers.  Please see the message below for more details:

Hello Iroquois community! We are calling all parents who will have a child attending Iroquois Intermediate ("II") next school year to join us for a meeting on Monday, April 22, 2024 @ 6pm, located in the II Cafeteria. Here we will discuss the creation of its Parent Teacher Organization ("PTO") and vote on board members. We will need volunteers to run for board positions and just generally help out with committees and events to provide a seamless transition for our children. There is no requirement for attendance but if you are motivated and want to be part of the creation of something new, fun and exciting, we encourage you to attend. Only parents of II students next year can vote or hold PTO board positions or committees. You must be in attendance to vote. If you are interested in running for a position or if you wish to nominate someone for a position, please email Taylor Palmer ( with your nomination. Be sure to include the name of the person if it is not yourself, the position(s) of potential interest (President or Co-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, Fundraising Chair) and ensure they show up that evening. We hope to see you all in a few weeks. Thank you for your support.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and is reminded that there is no school on Monday, April 8th.  Please enjoy and be careful taking in the solar eclipse!

In Partnership,

Ryan Harding
