February 10 - Principal's Message

Greetings, Elma Primary Families.

Thank you to those who joined us at our PTO meeting this past Wednesday.  We discussed our upcoming field trips and grade level activities, as well as a family ice skating event at Leisure Rinks on February 26th.  Information regarding the event should be going home today and is posted on our website.

Next week Tuesday is Valentine’s Day and our 100th day of school.  Teachers have been working with students and families to make it a special day for our kids.

We are happy to announce that our 4th graders will be a part of our 1st grade musical on March 27th!   As 1st graders, this group of students worked hard to prepare for a musical that never happened due to the COVID shutdown.  Many of them still remember the songs from 3 years ago, and will finally have a chance to perform them as the chorus alongside our first graders.  The performance will take place at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 27th, and will be open to 1st and 4th grade families.

A reminder that next Friday, February 17th, there will be no school due to a Superintendent’s Conference Day.

Finally, the next phase of our new mass notification system is automated attendance messaging. The new system automatically generates the phone calls based on attendance information entered into eSchool, our student information system. To prevent an absence call from automatically generating, we ask that parents and guardians call our school nurse, Mrs. Steck, no later than 9:30 AM to report their student absent or tardy.  Attendance calls from the new system are scheduled to begin the week of February 27th.

Thank you for a great week, enjoy your weekend!

Sincerely,

Pete Dobmeier
