Mrs. Stanfield's Message March 24, 2023

Dear Marilla Primary Families -

The children enjoyed the first week of Spring at Marilla Primary!  It is great to get back outside for recess!  We reminded the children to keep bringing their coats and boots to school for safe play on the playground!

This week, our students participated in a Poetry Alive assembly.  It was an entertaining and engaging experience for all of our students, with a number of students and staff members joining in as actors in the show.  Thank you to Miss Chernowski for arranging this for our school.

In Library and Tech classes, the students have been learning about careers with Ms. Cheney and Miss Chernowski.  These classes align with the NYS Standards for Career Planning.  Over the 4 weeks, the students explore careers, discuss what they think they may want to be when they grow up, and then they tried their hand at being architects, engineers, and construction workers by building bridges out of marshmallows and spaghetti.

On Friday, March 31st, our 1st Graders will perform their play, “In The Pages of a Book”, for our families.   The program for families will begin at 1:00 pm in the gym.  We will begin admitting families at 12:45 PM.  The students will get to see the dress rehearsal at 9:30 am.  Thank you to our first grade team and Mrs. Sullivan for all their hard work with this special performance.

Just a reminder that the PTO Book Fair that was scheduled for tonight is RESCHEDULED for Monday, May 22nd at 6:00 pm.

Enjoy your weekend.

Sincerely,

Amy Stanfield
