Personal Watercraft and Boater Safety Course

Life Preserver

This course is taught by a New York State Certified Educator and meets state requirements for a boater education and Personal Watercraft (PWC) Boating Safety Course. It is intended to provide comprehensive yet basic knowledge to acquaint you with safe and legal boating practices. The boating safety course is an 8-hour instructor led workshop which includes a student text and workbook. A multiple choice exam is given at the end of the course and upon successful completion, you receive your temporary certificate. Course completion is good for life and is recognized by the United States Coast Guard. This certificate may also entitle you to a 15% discount annually on your watercraft insurance. It is important to note that Empire Boating Safety Course is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and meets mandatory requirements for states (like NY) that have boater education laws. You must be at least 10 years old on the start of the date of the course to enroll.
