Danny’s Helping Hands is the same Helping Hands that has been helping families in the Iroquois Central School District since 2006. The new and improved name is in honor of founder, Colleen Edwards' brother, who passed away in 2013. A graduate of Iroquois, Danny was always the underdog, despite being bullied in school. He was the first to stand up for someone and would give the shirt off his back. His giving and caring heart is the epitome of what this fund and program represents.
Danny’s Helping Hands was established as a resource for families and staff in the Iroquois district in need of short-term financial assistance. Some examples include, but are not limited to:
- Utility bills
- Co-pays for medical services
- Groceries
- School supplies
- Furniture
- Holiday gifts
The fund maintains itself strictly on donations and the generosity of others.
"Everyone falls on hard times at one time or another. Our goal is to make things a little easier.”
-Colleen Edwards
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
-Helen Keller
